Enda LEAD promotes the sustainable management of natural resources through training, capacity-building, and the promotion of leadership that is sensitive to sustainable development, social and gender equity, and action research.
Enda LEAD fosters the emergence of African leadership that is more sensitive and open to the demands of sustainable development through high-level training activities in the field of leadership for the environment and development, as well as through a sponsorship or tax hosting programme that provides fiduciary oversight and financial, administrative and accounting management services. It also provides capacity-building for weak institutional and legal structures, helping them to manage their projects and donor funding.

Organisations must have a legal identity and at least one staff member with an administrative, accounting and financial profile. Organisations that are members of groups or networks that conduct or support violent activities, infringe criminal law, are involved in political activities or political influence, or have a criminal record relating to fraud, money laundering or the misappropriation of funds, are not eligible.
