GJK advances the right to a remedy and reparations for all victims of gross violations of human rights law. It sponsors legal research aimed at exploring judicial and alternative remedies, trains local survivors' organisations and NGOs to document violations of human rights law in a way that preserves the evidentiary standards required by courts and other accountability mechanisms, supports victims in securing legal representation, sponsors research to investigate gross violations of human rights law and provides a forum for the discussion and development of legislation and policies toward the achievement of remedy.
GJK understands how challenging and time-consuming it is for NGOs to obtain legal status and recognises the value of the work done by informal groups and networks. It is committed to partnering with organisations of all sizes and has a history of supporting small organisations. By providing fiscal hosting services, GJK intends to expand the scope of its positive impact and strengthen its sustainability.
