Mission

AHBN fosters transparent, accountable, sustainable, and innovative health financing for Africa by enabling African civil society organisations and advocates to influence investments that meaningfully improve overall health and well-being. It aims to empower African communities to engage leaders, support the institutionalisation of accountability and advocacy structures in CSOs, strengthen knowledge exchange and collaboration among CSOs, and support the development of advocacy tools and resources.

AHBN is committed to supporting civil society organisations with sub-grants and technical support for implementing their projects.

Community of Practitioners on Accountability and Social Action in Health, Gavi CSO Constituency, Global Health Security Agenda Consortium, Health Sector Reform Coalition, Partnership for Maternal Newborn and Child Health, Uniting to Combat NTDs

Civil society organisations with valid legal registration, a minimum of three years experience in project implementation, audited reports for the past two years, two organisational referees and membership of at least two CSO networks.

Experience with fiscal hosting: 4 to 5 years
Fiscal hosting portfolio size: Between US$50 000 and US$100 000
Fee structure for offering fiscal hosting services : Between 5% and 10% of the funds managed
Proportion of total funding in 2023 that formed part of fiscal hosting services: Between 16% and 20%
