Mission

BRC promotes self-reliance and democratic citizenship through the implementation of rights-based development, focusing on land and agrarian reform, the advancement of rural livelihoods, equitable gender relations and environmental sustainability.

BRC aims to support community-based organisations in the Eastern Cape that are experiencing challenges in accessing and managing funding to execute their work, especially in marginalised rural communities.

Tshintsha Amakhaya

Organisations with the expertise to execute their programmes but who lack the necessary financial and governance systems. BRC also serves as a fiscal host for social movements, rural trusts and community property associations.
